Welcome! I hope you continue visiting this board. The people here are an excellent source of support and information. There are also great links to other sites with info on CAH. As far as the pill taking goes - My son is almost 2 and was recently switched from a liquid (there are problems with the liquid Cortef suspension) to the pills. At first he was very reluctant to take the pills. I tried EVERYTHING. I think what finally helped was (1) explaining to him that the pill keeps him strong and healthy. He now says "strong and healthy" as he takes it. Kind of cute. (2) Never, ever giving in and letting him not take it. On one particularly difficult day I had to leave him in his room with the door closed and make him stay there until he was "ready" to take his medicine. (3) I give him a choice of taking it plain or with jelly. For the first few weeks he always fought me and usually chose to take his pill only with jelly. Now, less than a month later, he accepts it as part of his routine and just chews them up. I think he has finally learned that this one just can't be negotiable. I can remember other parents posting that their kids just chewed up the tablets and I couldn't believe it. I thought my son would never get to that point. But he did. I would just try to hang in there, it will get easier. Hope that helps.
