One trick my son taught himself was to stick the pill(s) up on the outside of his top teeth, then get a small drink, then swoosh the pills out (front to back) with his tongue when he swallowed. It kept his tongue from trying to naturally hold back solids when swallowing liquids. This was a great accomplishment for him since he has a very over sensative gag reflex. He did this for YEARS, he's now 15yrs old and the past 2-3 years he holds the pills in his lips & washes them straight thru with his drink. Hang in there--you'll find something that works. I'm sure it's harder just starting at the age of 4yrs...my son has been tasting them since he was 2 months, but she'll adjust.
