Re: How to give Cortef tabs to little ones?

The cortef tablet breaks down into very small particles in a little bit of water, just like the florinef does, except the particles are maybe 2-3 times the size of the florinef particles. Florinef breaks down so immediately in water. Cortef just takes longer, maybe 1-2 minutes. Once in a while I let my daughter chew the tablet, but I'm not keen on that at all ... don't like the idea of it being stuck in the grooves of the molars, also scared enough that it could be a medication that discolors teeth or breaks down the tooth enamel. With all the "bone-calcium" things CAH seems to cause, never know if it could do something to the teeth as far as calcium absorption goes. If it's that hard on the stomach, it makes me wonder what it might do to the teeth. Maybe someone has talked to a dentist about these meds being chewed or maybe an adult with CAH who chewed tablets as a child has insight on if there are any effects from it.
