My daughter started cortef and florinef at 2. We had her chew them up in ice cream (just a teaspoon). As she got older we used less and less ice cream and like the other children mentioned she learned to chew them plain. She is almost 9 now and trying to swallow them instead of chewing. People gave us heat about the ice cream, but she never got a cavity. I even gave it to her in the middle of the night (way back 6 years ago when we divided doses throughout the day -- we no longer do that). Good luck.SusanP
