Re: Cheer Up!

Oh....I *am* cheered up...truly.... The disheartening part comes in when I look back at the first meeting I went to two months ago. The consensus WAS "let's do it now!". In fact, I remember distinctly the discussion of "moving quickly" because the summer months are naturally a little slower....just about everyone on the Council had a little homework to do to present some info to the Sec of the Dept of H&MH to try to find some money. They agreed to postpone the issue again until the May meeting instead of April just to allow extra time for everyone to have enough time to accomplish their task. The Council voted unanimously at the March meeting that they would support the decision of newborn screening. I believe more was supposed to be discussed at this May meeting aside from inviting a few ped endos. But.....it is what it is....and I'm just grateful this Council is in favor of adding CAH. I'm a relatively impatient stay-at-home mom....with CAH at the top of my daily list of 'things to do/think about'. I had waited for this meeting for two months....anxious to hear feedback from the Council's various assignments....and it was barely a rehashing of March's meeting in a lot of ways. But....that's okay...it is still moving along....the people are nice.....the food was good (and the wine is something *I* would vote to have EVERY time!)
