My son's birth cost in excess of $150,000. We were told to say good bye to him. The priest held him in his arms as we took him off the resperator. That's when the miracle occured. He decided to fight for his life. That is also when they discovered that he had CAH. He was in the hospital for 28 days. Three transfusions, two spinal taps, they couldn't stop the bleeding after his circumcision so they had to put a clamp on his penis for 20 minutes AND give him another transfusion!! I had a 14 month old daughter at home who spiked a fever of 103 that day. All I can say is thank God the hospital windows didn't open. I swear I felt like jumping. My son's case was one of three that were presented in Connecticut to change the heel stick law. When they saw the $150,000+ figure, no one asked how they would find the money for it.
