Dear Yong Yan, Lupron is a monthly injection that is given to stop the body from going into puberty chemically. It works on the pituitary gland in the brain. Doctors give it when they determine that the body is prematurely going into puberty. Normally, they make that determination using a timed blood test called an LHRH test. P. S.
