Re: Dr. New

I have a 5 month old boy with CAH. He was diagnosed at 13 days due to dehydration, elevated potassium etc. When the Dr.'s did the tests to confirm the CAH diagnosis they were surprised that his test results confirmed that he was not salt wasting CAH, but all of his symptoms were in line with a salt wasting case of CAH. In fact they even have him taking flourinef as with out it he becomes very lethargic, and was still dehydrating and not gaining any weight. Has she heard of this before and if so have the patients she has treated also been prescribed flourinef or any other treatments? A second question I have is, if a child is diagnosed a birth and treated accordingly does she have any statistics of what percentage of children will still go into puberty early, and any statistics on growth. Thanks, Diane
