I took my son to the eye doctor the other day for a thorough exam including catarac & glaucoma check requested by his Endo. Everything was fine. But what amazed me most was when the eye doctor asked which type of CAH he had!! After all these years of feeling like no one but us has ever heard of this disorder, I'm finally begining to run into people in the health care community who HAVE heard of it and actually even know a bit about it!! Now, if they could just make sure that EVERYONE who works in every Emergency Room has just a little knowleged of CAH, then we (and our children) would be o.k. Just wanted to share my excitement, and pray that some type of recognition is happening elsewhere in the world. I know some of you are uncomfortable talking about CAH with "strangers", but in alot of areas people (even those in the health care field) will never hear about CAH if we don't bring up the subject. I imagine many so-called 'professionals' have heard of it, but they think it's so rare that they will never see it. I guess what I'm trying to say is...it's up to us to spread the word, so that no matter where we & our children travel they can be well cared for.Deb L
