Hi Kimberly, My understanding of it is that emotional stress will not trigger a crisis. My CAH son is almost 22 months old, and it appears to me that he is entering the terrible "2's", sometimes when he doesen't get what he wants he throws a horrible fit, throwing himself on the ground kicking and screaming and I just let him go for it. I guess that is something along the same lines as letting him cry at night. However, something similar to your story is that he also has acid reflux problems, he is taking Zantac for that and it really seemed to help him. Prior to that diagnoses he was not really gaining weight, didn't want to drink his bottles and after the Zantac all that changed. So I guess the bottom line is let him cry. It should only last 2-3 nights and then maybe you will start feeling more rested, and so will he. But if you are truly unsure ask your endo, he/she will let you know for sure. Good luck.
