Re: having another baby???

I am now 19 weeks pregnant with our second child. Our first daughter has salt-losing CAH and is 15 months old. At no stage have we ever thought of NOT having another child. Our daughter has been doing so well and the CAH (so far) has not caused her or us any major problems. I had a CVS done when I was 11 weeks pregnant and we got the results back 6 weeks later that our unborn child does not have CAH. This was quite a relief, however we were very prepared for another CAH child, and to be quite honest I feel for my oldest child that she has CAH and our second child doesn't. I guess this is something that we may have to contend with in the future. I have even spoken to a mother of 2 CAH children and she said to me that if you have to look at something positive about having 2 CAH children it is that there's no differentiating between them - they both have to take meds, have blood tests, see the doctor etc. I certainly don't think that CAH should be an issue when deciding about having more children, however this decision is solely yours and your husbands and shouldn't be influenced by doctors, family, friends etc. Best of luck with your decision.
