LynnT, I found the story at a site set up by the young man's parents in his memory. It is at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Canyon/7906/index.html I'm sorry I don't know how CAH causes excessive early bone growth. I am dismayed that this could happen in 2000. It looks to me like endocronologists need their own CAH board. I remember having my wrists x-rayed as part of my biyearly checkups. This was back in the fifties and early sixties. It was explained to me that the this was to make sure that I was growing normally. The monitoring was successful even back then: my height is 5' 4'', a few inches shorter than my mother and one of my non CAH sisters. My other non CAH sister is actually a couple of inches shorter than I am. I am constantly trying to learn more about CAH but I haven't paid much attention to growth issues. If I learn anything that might be helpful I will certainly let you know. Thank you for letting me know that my post helped. I will do a followup on salt wasting sometime in the future. By the way, since there is another Joan I will start posting as JoanW to avoid confusion. Joan
