Looks like you came to the right place to vent about your concerns Stephanie. You and your son will have the prayers of everyone on this board (you too Janet & Olivia). When my son was born he was in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit for 28 days. I saw things being done to those babies that no mom should see, but it did make me realize just how strong these little people are!!!! There were little babies in there that I have eaten lobsters bigger than and they made it. We are still close to one of the 2 pounders today. (I gave him a lobster bib for his 1st birthday). I think that the doctors will have an extra special eye on your son going into the surgery because they know there are extenuating circumstances. It will keep them on their toes. You can also do what I did just for good measure. I taped a picture of my son's 14 month old sister to his incubator. She was holding a sign that said "RYAN COME HOME". The doctor's all told me that whenever they looked at her cute little face they felt guilty and tried even harder to get him well enough to come home. I say do what ever it takes. Try to keep your spirits up and sense of humor too. God and the doctors will do the rest. You are in our hearts and prayers. Lynn
