Congratulations on your new son!! I can remember how frightened my husband and I were when we first learned about the CAH - you wonder if your child will be healthy and have a normal life, or if he will even survive. The answer to all of those questions is:YES! Mason will be fine; it will be an adjustment for you and your wife to get used to the medication schedules, monitoring him when he's sick and being prepared to give injections, but you ALL will survive! CAH is a condition, not a disease, which means it is managable and not progressive. Mason will be a "normal" little boy, with a wonderful future to look forward to!! (just reading all of the wonderful stories of these CAH children and adults gives me great hope and encouragement!) God's blessings to your and your family!
