I think I will be brave next flu season, and get shots for our whole family! Our daughter has had all of her shots - even pertussis. Our endo. was very adamant about her (and all CAH kids) receiving ALL of their shots; she says that normally, people on steriods have a surpressed immune system, so of course, giving them the shots can easily result in getting the disease they're being immunized against! (The nurses always get pretty hyper when they ask; "Any medications?", and I say, "Hydorcortisone"!!) But our children (if they're not being over-medicated) are receiving replacement therapy ONLY, which means that we're only giving them what their bodies should produce naturally, so their immune systems should not be compromised. She stressed how important immunizations are, especially for our kids, who can get SO sick if they would contract one of these diseases. But, as I said, both of my kids (most pointedly, my non-CAH son!) were very ill from their shots, and I guess I'm just plain "vaccination shy"! Guess I need to get over it!Wendy-Lee
