I have a 5yr old son who is also a salt-waster. Weight has never been a problem for us. Both my children are on the small side. My son is 25% on both height and weight. I do know when he was an infant all he did was eat and his face was very puffy. The doctor told us that both were caused by the cortef and that he would level off. He does have bouts of constantly wanting to eat. But, just as I do with my daughter and myself, I have to sometimes tell him no. I think it's important to be taught that you can't eat constantly. I try to feed them very healthy but as all parents know that is tough sometimes espcially as they get in school. As for the ear infections my son has only had two in his life and several years apart. My 7year old daughter however, is a different story. She does not have CAH. She is on her second set of tubes and just had her adnoids removed. She has had problems since she was two. I understand that they are almost always heriditary (sp?). And yes my husband had the exact problem as a child. I can also tell you that when my son had the ear infections the endo did NOT have me increase his cortef because he was on meds for the infection. Only while he ran the high fever on the first day did we increase but not through the entire infection. There's always so many questions for our children! Good luck and hope this helped even just a bit. JudyJoey
