Thanks both for encouraging words! Rena, the meeting tonight was an inservice for the local EMT's to know what to do if the nursery school teacher (or other non-medical caregiver)had to call 911. Now my daughter is on their medical central file. An EMT certified to give injections would respond to the call and administer the IM immediately, and start an IV if necessary. Because my daghter has been on just an AM dose and PM dose, I have not had to worry about a mid-day dose at school. Once in elementary school, the nurse has already told me that they help kids with their meds, and she could give the IM if necessary. I'm so grateful to have this kind of support in my community. I feel very relieved. I also finally sent off the application for the medic alert bracelet-something I should have done a long time ago!
