I have heard so many different statistics on frequency of CAH. The literature we were given at the Children's hospital when my son was diagnosed said that 1 in 50 people carry a recessive CAH gene. I can't find one of the articles right now, but I am pretty sure it said 1 in 10,000 is affected. Given that (1) there are so many different stats on the number of people affected, (2)some carriers seem to have symptoms of CAH and (3) so many families seem to have several children with CAH (even though the odds should be just 1 in 4 each time) and (4) there is such a range from mild to severe CAH, I wonder if there are many people who think they are carriers but really have a very mild form of CAH. Just a thought. I don't have any medical info that back it up. It also seems like many families have several children with CAH. Given that there should be just 1 in 4 chance of having a CAH child if both parents are carriers,Chris D
