My daughter's ped endo was satisfied if levels were at 13. I assume there must be a variations in units of measurement. Does someone know the difference in ways of calculating these measurement? I have read some posting where the acceptable levels are in the thousands and I expect the units of measurement must be different. I know some have tyed to explain it before but I just don't seem to get it. A note to nannie.. Our ped endo explained that she recorded observations in two ways. One using specific tests such as blood levels etc and the other method was clinical - mostly using the growth chart.... where height and weigh patterns are recorded on a chart over a period of time and compared to a standardized growth chart. It was amazing to see that when my daughter's meds were not right her height zoomed when was undersuppressed ( high OHP levels) and when she was over suppressed she gained weight not height. Generally speaking, if your grandson's OHP levels are too high you will notice a spurt of growth, weight loss or just not gaining weight. Some actually have what is called hyperpigmentation. I always knew that when my daughter started to look like she had a tan where the sun doesn't shine we were overdue for a blood test.Peg
