First, I should be receiving my sons tests results tommorrow to see if we need to lower his cortef further. He was re-tested last week after his 17OHP dropped to 58 after switching to cortef pill. I definately plan on asking again what is the ideal 17OHP level. Although, it varies from doctor to doctor - which is absolutely unacceptable, fustrating, and is now going to cause me to vent again to my poor husband on how fed up I am with the NON-universal treatment of CAH!!!!!!! - I will be sure to post to you any pertinent info. Second, currently my family is going through and has been for the past month and a half a VERY fustrating time with the medical profession. My grandmother had a stroke and heart attack. From her many doctors, we have gotten so many conflicting opinions on treatment, meds., re-hab, etc. So not to bore you with the many details - our experience has shown that THE FAMILY needs to make a decision on what they think is best for the patient and use the doctors they think are going to follow through with the necessary course of action. Because of our persistence my Grandmother is doing well in the rehab that we wanted her in. I know that it is easier said than done, but you know you have to make a change when the egos outweigh the best interest of the patient.Kimberly
