Is it just me or is anyone else having a hard time (if not impossible time) keeping up with this board BECAUSE so many "not important" messages & replies are being posted? I felt like writing this about 6 weeks ago, but just kept hoping that the number of non-important postings would slow down - but it just seems to be getting worse!! I'm not talking about the "serious" postings & responses ... I am talking about messages that are more for "chat room" talk than messages that ought to be posted on a serious message board. CAH is a life-threatening condition that has all kinds of very important matters involved (illness handling, adrenal crisis knowledge, bone growth, early puberty, salt needs, etc.). I THINK THAT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE BEING DRIVEN AWAY FROM THIS BOARD BECAUSE IT HAS BECOME MORE LIKE A CHAT ROOM THAN A "SERIOUS" MESSAGE BOARD!! AND THAT SO MANY PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED THIS BOARD OR WHO JUST FOUND IT ARE OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF MESSAGES --- AND THAT THEY AREN'T GOING TO HAVE TIME TO READ ALL THE MESSAGES AND MIGHT MISS SOMETHING IMPORTANT (OR THAT WOULD EVEN SAVE THEIR CHILD'S LIFE). IT HAS BECOME A "BURDEN" TO READ THIS BOARD BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY NON-IMPORTANT POSTINGS. AND - PEOPLE LIKE PHYSICIANS & NURSES & MED STUDENTS WHO COME TO THIS BOARD TO EITHER POST OR READ DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO READ ALL THE MESSAGES -- WE MIGHT BE LOSING VALUABLE INPUT FROM THEM -- OR NOT ALLOWING THEM TO LEARN THE IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT CAH THAT THEY NEED TO KNOW TO TREAT CAH BETTER." *****I suggest that things like the following could be considered:**** 1) That the "chit-chat" messages that don't really have any serious CAH comments to them STOP being posted on this board. 2) That people could add "IMPORTANT" or "JUST GABBING" to each of their posts titles' so that people who don't have one to two hours per day to read this board could sort through the messages that really should be read. 3) That the chat room be given scheduled daily times (a few a day) that people who want to chit-chat can go into during those times. 4) That two CAH boards could be set up (what a pain though!!) - one being a "serious postings only board" and the other being the "non-serious CAH chit-chat board." EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD HAS VALUABLE INFORMATION TO SHARE - EVERYONE HAS BEEN WONDERFUL - I DO NOT WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE BY THIS POSTING. BUT, CAN WE PLEASE "COOL" THE NON-CRITICAL MESSAGES AND KEEP THIS A "WONDERFUL & ESSENTIAL & LIFE-SAVING CAH BOARD SO THAT NEWCOMERS & EVERYONE ELSE CAN KEEP UP WITH IT?"
