I came here to post instead of going to the chat room because the problem is here & not in the chat room. ALL CAPS is "chat room yelling" - not message board yelling - ALL CAPS on a message board shows the words that you want someone who is "skimming" the message to be able to see. (I'm the President of a company for 17 years with the equivalent of 3 Master's Degrees in college credit hours - I wouldn't be saying that except you stated your SVP status, so now you know my background). Maybe the problem is that CAH has so, so many issues to it AND one board is just not "effective" to encompass all those issues. If there were different segments of this message board that separated the issues out such as "bone growth & early puberty, surgery matters, illness & emergency issues, weight problem issues, problems with cortisol/hormonal levels, male only issues, female only issues, teen issues, adult issues" - then the board could serve the needs of everyone who NEEDS & READS this board. YOUR endo or someone who NEEDS HELP with a CAH matter can more easily get the advice they need and maybe in a matter of 30 minutes vs. 6-8 hours searching the archives. I know of no endocrinologist who has time in their life to spend 1/2 hour per day reading a "CAH only" board AND treat all their other patients of diabetics, growth, etc. Don't you want to make it easier for your endo and other people who need help to be able to search the archives here & find their answers? Also, how many of you know what is involved in setting up & running an internet board? Do you know the problems with servers because of "board activity level?" Are you the one determining how to set up the archives to hold the 600 or so messages posted here (now) each month? No, you are not, I am not either. But, I am a compassionate, logical, financially minded person who foresees numerous problems down the road on this board as more & more people find this site in the world AND try to find out the answers for the multitude of problems that CAH people can & do have. And I'm saying that "one-line" responses such as "I don't know" OR "I hope you find out" needlessly clutter up this board AND waste the time of people who read & NEED this board to HELP CAH people. To read a post that "asks for help or an answer" and find 10 responses with only 2 stating some answers & the other 8 saying things like "I hope you find out", "I don't know", take time & space on this board. Email the person directly if that is what you have to say to them - leave this board as "clean" as possible so that people can more quickly & easily get their answers. We need a board that will serve the needs of everyone who reads it. Too many messages here, you can't archive that many messages --- something needs to be done to make this board effective.
