I work at the Pentagon for the Air Force as a civilian (I am not in the Air Force - I am a government employee - no uniform). I am not really familiar with the Coast Guard but I think that it is the same for all services. While working for the Air Force I have seen active duty Air Force people with mild medical conditions. One guy that worked in contracting as active duty had one leg shorter than the other (he had a big thick heeled shoe). I asked him how he got in the service and he said that he had to have a medical waiver. If you son is denied = contact your senator or representative and ask for a help in getting a waiver. Congressional inquiries do get attention. He will probably have to have a desk job = like contracting, etc. my email is preston@kreative.net Good Luck!!!!Roberta
