It seems that many of us are getting caught up in semantics here. Thanks to someone earlier, I was referred to research the Rehabilitation Act of 1975 (I think!). At any rate, it is has guidelines to ensure that children with disabilities recieve the same benefits of education as others. One of the headings under it refers to "hidden disabilites". Things that might not seem aparant. My questions to this agency were to see if my CAH son was entitled to regular staff person in the clinic to handle emergencies. I also questioned what safeguards my son is entitled to. At the very least, our salt-wasters could get water whenever the please, because they have a condition that requires it. Other examples given for hidden disabilities with CAH might be that they must not be out in the sun for extended periods of time...so a PE course might need to be offered indoors for them. I will use the term disability at school if it ensures that his health is not jeapordized while at school.DebbiW
