query follow-up
6/16/00 11:41 AM
Greetings, I understand from many of the postings that were offered in the thread regarding my “query” that some of you may be interested in speaking with me further, whether because you would like to speak with me about your experience (or would like simply to explore that possibility), or because you have questions about my current or past projects. If that is the case, please e-mail me at efeder@american.edu. If you are interested in speaking with me by phone, I will call you at your convenience. Again, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the nature of the project, my interest parents of CAH children in particular, or what your participation might consist in. It is worth repeating that my project does not involve some kind of social scientific “study” or “evaluation”: I am simply interested in hearing parents’ stories, whatever their experience or point of view. Let me say again that I am very sorry if the request of my original query was inappropriately framed. I do hope that the participants of this board understand that it was furthest from my intention to cause offense of any kind. My concern, and the concern that motivates this project on dependency (see post on “dependency” below if there are further questions regarding my use of this term), is that very little is being done to support parents in their roles as caregivers, and my hope as a political theorist is to offer a framework that will help individuals and policy makers better support parents in their roles as parents. Thank you.
