I agree that CAH should not be considered a disability. However, be aware that your child will fall under the ADA guidelines as far as the schools are concerned. When our daughter entered High School, she was able to fill out the Emergency card. She "elected" to omit the fact that she had CAH and as a result we ended up in a rather uncomfortable confrontation with a coach who would not allow her to get water while participating in Gym. Believe it or not, we had to have a multidisciplinary team to ensure that she could get water if she felt the need while in gym. It is important for our children's educators to know if they have this especially if they are salt flushers. Our daughter is very athletic, played tennis competively and softball. With plenty of water available, there never was a problem. However, what the teachers don't know can hurt your child.Mary B.
