Our daughter had her two surgeries at 3 months and 5 months and I am so glad that she did. She does not remember any of it and didn't have to deal with the embarressment of doctors prodding and poking at her personal bits! Also she recovered very quickly from the surgery and didn't require much in the way of pain relief which surprised me. She came out of her second surgery blowing raspberrys and smiling, Go figure??? The point I am trying to make is this - You know what is best for your child and obviously you will do what is best for her but think very hard on this one as it is a very big decision to make. I personally think that surgery is much better done at a young age and my endocrinologist and surgeon agree. Maybe you should get a second opinion from another surgeon.
