First and foremost I would like to congratulate you on the birth of your son. I am sure you were quite shocked when you received the diagnosis of CAH. I must say, you are really very lucky to have found this board so early on in your childs life. I, unfortunately, didn't find it until my son was 4 years old. You are right though, the people on this board will provide a wealth of knowledge and support. You will find it invaluable in helping you cope with all things related and non-related to CAH. This will allow you to experience the excitement and pure joy of your first born child!! It truly is a magical time. CAH is very managable with the proper treatment and medication. That is the key. It is good that you are already asking questions of your doctors. My husband and I coined a phrase "when in doubt stress it out". That is to say that it is better to give the stress dose of medicine than to not. It is not harmful to overdose occasionally, but to underdose could be fatal in some circumstances. I would call my pediatric endo and ask the question about the fever and stress dosing. He would be the one more experienced in dealing with CAH. As far as the liquid cortef goes, if you would like, I will FAX you a copy of the letter that Upjohn sent out a few months ago regarding the formulation of their product. My email is ltorony@CT2.nai.net if you would like to send me your email or just to "chat". Once again, congratulation on the birth of your brand new bundle of joy!! God bless you and your family, Lynn P.S. Have you heard of the Magic Foundation yet?LynnT
