We've had several different insurance changes throughout the 9 (almost 10) years since my CAH daughter was born. Blue Cross was one of them. We did not have to wait the 12 months. If you are just changing insurance from one company to another, with no lapse in coverage between the two, the waiting period is waived. You usually have to provide a letter from the prior insurance showing that your child was covered and what the dates were.
