Hi everyone. I don't write often but I read the board daily. I do have an update on the acto-vial solu-cortef as I just spoke with pharmacia upjohn this week. Currently the 100mg acto-vial solu-cortef is very difficult if not impossible to secure. The upjohn"sterile facility" in which it is produced was closed for three months for rennovations. Upjohn produced extra prior to this closing but it has not proven to be enough. That's why there is a shortage right now. The only way to secure it is to find a pharmacy which has it on the shelf already, which wasn't easy but I did succeed! My contact at upjohn said the next batch should be released in about two weeks. Also, as long as the two chambers are not mixed, the shelf-life is five years. Upjohn's policy allows for a maximum shelf life of 5 years, regardless of whether or not the product may still be OK.
