I am curious as to why your endo thinks your son still needs the extra sodium - what are the medical indicators for this?? As far as we were told and understand, the medical community is not even really sure why they need to give the extra salt at all (it DOESN'T make sense if you think about it - the meds are replacing the hormones that our kids are missing, and with these meds, their bodies should be acting and reacting "normally"; and we definately don't give our NON-CAH babies salt water! As I understand it, in some countries, they don't give the extra salt AT ALL as part of the CAH treatment!?) What symptoms does your son display that makes the endo think he needs routine extra salt at age 5?? What is your son's blood pressure like? Thanks for the information - God bless!Wendy-Lee
