Lisa, I had the same worry. My daughter is three tomarrow. After the endo. told me to stop the sodium, I still gave it to her. I was so scared because she is and always have been a really poor eater. She is a salt waster too. When he found out that I still gave her it, he was NOT happy. So I too salted her milk. They will pretty much take on there own diet. My daughter is a potatoe chip nut. She has lived on french fries and potatoe chips all her life. Ask your endocrologist what is the necessary amount of sodium needed in your child's diet daily. I cannot remember what my endo. told us. I wanted something to measure, like I try to measure fat grams for myself. If I had something to measure, I felt as if I knew she was getting her daily need. Like to measure so many milligrams of salt. I found alot of hidden salt in alot of things. By the time I measured she had plenty of salt. Your endo can help you with your child's daily recommendationt. I hope that helps!
