Carol, Thanks for the informative post. My daughter is on cortef (and has done wonderful), but has the dex for injections (not needed yet). I believe your post clearly points out that there are many ways to treat CAH (as is with most health conditions). Doctors will prescribe what they are comfortable with and have had good results with. I know there are many folks out there who would like there to be a single way to treat CAH. I don't believe that will ever happen. My daughter's pediatrician and my nephew's pediatrician don't even treat ear infections the same! If every doctor treated the same we wouldn't learn new ways. One big advantage to this board is that as parents we can learn of how other doctors are treating the disorder. Then if there is a problem with how our child(ren) are being treated we will have some ideas to talk with the ped endo about. Janet
