Re: A few questions---over medicating?

Hi Lisa, My son is 5 months old and we switched to the pill from the liquid about 1 week ago. We give him his meds at 6am, 2pm, and 10pm. I drop his pill in a shringe then put the plunger in and draw up juice and let it dissolve for 10 mins. Before I give it I let it all settle in the front of the shringe, so the first squirt is packed with the majority of the the Cortef. After I give it I draw up more juice just to make sure I have given it all. Seems to be working so far. I do the same with his florinef pill. We switched to the pill right before the re-call. We switched because his 17-OH levels were increasing (about 4600 from 1300 the month before). We increased the dose when we switched. I now am fearing that we are over medicating him. He now is getting 2.5mg (1/2 pill) three times a day. 7.5 mg a day. He weighs about 16lbs. We are re-testing his levels in the middle of August. I hope our info helps. I am watching my son close. It is impossible for me not to worry. I do every day. Good luck with the switch.
