My son too struggles with his weight - he is very self concious and aware of everything he eats. He has definately put on weight everytime he has his dose increased and he seems to slim down then he needs an increased dose again! I am sure that CAH does cause weight gain for some - no one else in the family is overweight and he eats less and exercises more! The Endo has said to me to be careful when increasing his dose for such things as colds etc as this will send his weight up but obviously it depends on how unwell he is! In the past when he was a baby he was over treated and was really plump, then he was undertreated and slim - now going through puberty he is struggling. I have read on this board that another boy had this problem and when he had stopped growing and was changed from hydro to predislone (I think it was) he slimmed down! I still wonder if they don't tend to over treat with the hydro anyway. I know his weight struggles are caused through his CAH. I hope this helps
