It depends which unit of measurement the 17-OHP results are in. Our 17-OHP tests are run in ng/dL. Generally, our endo wants to see under 1,000. Her first test when she was diagnosed had a level of 8,000 ng/dL. Now, she is generally in the 200-400 range. Other tests should be factored in before dosage changes are made, i.e. androstenedione. Perhaps some endos might alter a dosage based strictly on the 17-OHP. However, since 17-OHP is a stress hormone, the numbers can fluctuate greatly and might give the impression that a dosage change is in order.
