Hello, I have 2 sons with non classical CAH , both on the liquid suspension since birth, both with levels that seem difficult to manage and my endo had been encouraging me to switch to the pill form for some time now. The problem being my 3 year old is extremely difficult to get ANY med into him and finally got used to the liquid in a small sip of juice so i stuck with that.Believe me, most of the time it was a battle with him. After my visit today i found out that the suspension was recalled and we really made an effort to get him to take the pill and he did, yea! But after reading all these posts now I am concerned with oversuppressing him.His levels were well controlled last visit , finally, he is considered to be on a high dose(of the suspension) for nonclassical. So please if anyone has any input as for what things to look for with oversupressing him please pass it on. He had always been borderline undersuppessed so I never worried about it. Also , another reason I kept with the liquid is how do you give it in the pill once they are asleep? My boys go to bed by 7 or 8 and it's too early for the PM dose, I can squirt the suspension easily in their mouth with out waking them up. Bit the pill I give in allpesauce or yougert and it can be a disaster if they are tired. Any hints will help greatly. I have not posted before but have read the board and gotten valuable information. I find this recall quite frightning and am rather upset. The endo kept telling me that she was concerned as to how high of a dose the boys required for the type of CAH that they had to maintain good levels now I'm wondering if it was the med and am feeling very guilty I have not reaserched it sooner!
