We were told by our endo not to give extra medication before/after games, just to increase salt prior and be sure plenty of water and Gatorade were available. Well we saw that wasn't enough so now before a game in extreme heat or a tournament, we give an extra dose of the hydrocortone. If it is in the evening and it means it will only be a few hours early, we also give the florinef at that time as opposed to bedtime. We still have salty snacks and gatorade available. It works beautifully. As everyone has stated here, you know your child better than the endo and sometimes you have to make the decision based on what you observe.
