Welcome! There are normally a lot more posts here but there is some kind of problem right now. When my daughter was a baby we got one gram sodium tabs and mixed them in water and then added equal amounts to bottles throughout the day. My daughter seemed to like it in apple juice. She is 17 now so it's hard to remember. As far as the surgery, well my daughter had clitoroplasty right after birth and vaginoplasty at age three. Everything went fine for her. We believed that she would still have sensation. But she has recently told me that she has no clitoral sensation and she is not happy about it. She still wants the vaginal opening enlarged (it is still too narrow for a tampon) but she is against the clitoral surgery. I don't know why some of these surgeries have poor results..if it is the surgeon, the technique, or maybe it just turns out different with each child based on anatomical differences. I would wait. You still have plenty of time. I would find out if these surgeons can check into this matter. You can always have the surgery later but you can't undo surgery once it has been done. Otherwise cah has not been difficult for us. We have been very lucky with her levels. I'm sure you will find a lot of help and support here. There are a lot of parents of cah children here and some adults with cah too.
