Like everyone on the board i was not surprised when the oral cortef was recalled. I was surprised when my endo did not know and also my pharmacy did not know. I sent a copy of the recall letter to my endo on a wed. and did not hear from them until friday and that was only because i called my pediatrician. Unfortunately the endo does not see any reason to change her from the liquid cortef, no matter how much we demand it. They had another pharmacy make the liquid form for her. They said that because no one had had any bad effects to the liquid form there was no sense in changing them. The reasoning they gave me for not swithing her to the pill was bacause she only takes 2.4cc on a daily basis and that was the equivalent of 1.6cc pill form. That would be to hard to get the precise dose. I just read Karens post and find out that 2.5cc is equal to a 5mg. pill. Needles to say that i am very outraged.. In the short time that i have been on this board i have learned so much, than i have in the 11 months that we have been blessed with my daughter.
