My daughter is a senior this year. She has CAH w/salt waisting. Years ago when she was three, I moved to another state and the new endo changed her meds so severly she gained 40lbs in less then one year. So I started her in swim lessons year round and by 7 she was the state champion and at 9 she was regional champion, even flew off in an airplane with 75 other swimmers to a national zone competition (she brought home a bronze)!!! Sports turned out to be a blessing, she lost weight while adjusting to the new dosages, the endo and I had to comprimse there too!! But now as a young women wanting to go on to college to play (state champions softball too!) Is where I fear her first denial will come when they drug test. I know she cannot compete in the olymipics but we are not yet sure on the college level of athletics. During all the years I supported her competitions I was there as much as possible but I had three other kids doing the same stuff... I allways enlisted other moms or dads and gave them as much information as I could like many of you all writing everything out.. my daughter now has several sports moms and I think them knowing your child wears a medical alert for their condition helps. So I am sure you have many great years ahead... have fun... I love to watch these special ones get confidence with challenges in their activities... it makes my daughter feel a little more like normal...whatever that is?Sherrie
