So many Lynns so little time!! I am going to abstain from responding to my opinion about finding another pharmacy to recreate a suspension formula due to my obvious fears and experiences. I will say one thing however. If a huge company like Upjohn couldn't find an easy and exceptable suspension agent how can you be sure that your local pharmacist can? As far as splitting the pill, we have to half and quater and once in a while eighth it! It is not hard. Hard is watching your child spiral out of control no matter what you do. This is NOT hard. If you go to the pharmacy and by a pill slicer that is a slicer and a grinder all in one you will soon find that life is easy and you CAN know how much your child is getting. Even better than the suspension product. If you use the balance of the sliced pill for a later dose in the same day you are ensuring that you are getting exactly what the doctor ordered, and your child's levels should reflect a stable level. Some pharmacists will even help you or show you how to slice your pills to the desired doseage. Since we travel so much I preferred to learn it myself, but my pharmacist gave me his home phone number and said to use it if I EVER need him. Good luck in your decision making. The point is, it should be your decision also. If you tell your doctor that you are not comfortable with the suspension formula, he should work with you to find another acceptable method. If not, you should work on finding another acceptable doctor!LynnT
