Pediatric Endo or Not
8/7/00 8:25 PM
In another post I submitted a few days ago, some of the responses mentioned that I might want to get another doctor for my son, or at least another opinion. I live in Birmingham, Alabama, which is a known medical center city and some of the best doctors in the world are right here. I have thought of changing doctors, but even where I live, there are only two pediatric endocrinologists, and they work together. They only see patients through the endo clinic at the Children's Hospital, which I dislike because the customer service is virtually nonexistent. There are many, many endocrinologists available, but because they're not specifically "pediatric", I've not given them a great deal of thought. I'd ask his pediatrician for a referral, but that's how I wound up with the endo I have now. And, to be honest, I'm not really happy with the pediatrician; that one I definitely AM changing. How important, do you think, it is that my not-quite-8-year-old son sees a "pediatric" endo?
