Small dosages with the pills

If I read your last post correctly your daughter was getting 2 1/2 ml (or 5 mg) of cortef a day. This is the same dosage my son is on but his is now taking the tablets. He takes a half tablet in the morning, 1/4 tablet in the afternoon, and 1/4 tablet at night. We will be testing him in a couple of weeks to see how this is working for him. He had been taking the same amount of the liquid cortef as your daughter until his lab tests came back really high (his 17-OHP was through the roof). So we switched to the pill and my doctor increased the dosage of cortef to 6.25mg/day (1/2 tablet in the morning, 1/4 in the afternoon, and 1/2 at night). Then his next lab tests showed that he was oversuppressed. So we are now back to 5mg a day. I will be curious to see what his next lab tests show. It is possible to break the pills into 1/8ths. I am sure they would not be exact but believe me, treating CAH is hardly an exact science!
