My 23 month old salt-wasting son has been on the cortef pills for a week. He is acting the same, but still looks at me like he's thinking - WHAT ARE YOU GIVING ME MOM? -when I give him the 1/2 of a 5 mg pill 3x a day. I've found the easiest way to give him the pill is to place 1/2 of a pill in a syringe and draw up a little water. Leave it sit about 10 minutes, then draw up the Orange flavored concentrated fruit drink (A BIG THANKS TO LAURA FOR THIS FIND!!!), leaving a little space to combine the water and pill mixture with the concentrate. The orange concentrate does act like a suspention. If you crush the pill first, and then mix it with the concentrate, there is hardly any trace of the pill in the mix, that might help it go down. I did take a taste of different attempts to disguise the pill and it is VERY bitter in most cases. Poor kids...I did discover that he needed something to eat prior to taking these pills, because they did cause stomach upset! Good luck.Jamie K.
