Janet-I wish you alot of luck because it sounds like you will have to be a strong advocate for your daughter. It sounds as though you have two issues to deal with-CAH and hyperactivity. The key is to make sure all staff understand what CAH is and what it means for your daughter. Make sure you have a good doctor's letter, a complete plan of action for emergencies (exactly what you expect the school to do), and give out lots of brochures-the MAGIC Foundation has a great one. You'll have to keep meds and the injectable at school as well. Helping your daughter to learn how to communicate when she doesn't feel right will help ease your mind as well. I'm trying to teach my four yr old to explain what she feels (ie. very thirsty, tummy ache, tired-it's not always easy, my 8 year old clams up when she doesn't feel good!) I can't help with the hyperactivity, but just make sure she'll have a teacher who can give her the attention she needs. (Our school district allows for teacher requests). Good luck-open communication and school meetings are key. Hope it all works out!Pamela
