In addition to calcium supplements (I take Tums), you need to make sure you get vitamin D and magnesium. I use a multi-vitamin. Weight bearing exercise helps also. Since I started this (3 yrs ago), I have reversed some of the bone loss. As Joan W. said on the adult board, you need to be on the lowest dose of steroid that gets the job done. Adults have to be careful of over suppression also. I was also told of this when I was 33. I wonder if there is more to come? We'll have to rely on JoanW since she is ahead of us in all respects (research, etc.).
