Meds/Insurance Coverage
8/14/00 7:13 PM
To those of you having problems getting insurance to cover meds. I personally am the Human Resource Coordinator for my company. After several phone calls, I was able to get the meds covered but not as a "Formulary" drug, which means that rather than paying a $15.00 copay, I now pay $37.08. At least it beats paying in full. I thought it was interesting that my endo, based out of the Cleveland Clinic, supposedly world known gave me a re-fill for the liquid Cortef 2 1/2 weeks agao. I told him that it had been recalled, and he told me not to believe everything I read on the internet. Imagine his surprise/embarassment when the insurance company could not refill due the med being pulled. Needless to say I'm once again looking for a new endo. If any of you have prescription coverage through your ins co and are having a hard time, feel free to e-mail me at schauer@ameritech.net and I will be more than happy to help you!
