Re: Re: Help...Ped endo doesn't want to give cortef pil

Our daughter was on .9ml 3x/day of the liquid Cortef. About 7 months ago I had asked our endo about the problems with the liquid and we got the standard "shake it up really well". The endo also said that our daughter's dose was too small to switch to the pill form. Well, guess what, when the liquid was recalled she was able to come up with a dosing plan with the pill. We use 5mg tablets, split one in half, half in the morning and half at night and then we give a quarter of a pill in the afternoon. Our daughter is almost 22 months and if she can do it than so can yours. It isn't as easy as the suspension but if the drug company had to admit it was flawed then I think it is time for your endo to swallow his pride and admit too. Good luck and don't let your doctor sway you, obviously they don't know everything and it is our job to fill them in. Be demanding if you have to. Lisa
