Hi you guys. I have been traveling a lot over the last few days and haven't had a chance to read the board until today. I received a phone call from my daughter's pediatrician today and he told me that it will be flu shot time soon and that he has us at the top of his list. He also told us that he heard that there is going to be a shortage of the vaccine this year and they were advised to allow those who have a special need for this shot to go first. Then they will distribute it to those who just want the shot rather than NEED it. If you are interested in getting a shot for your child or children this year, and I highly recommend it,you may want to contact their pediatricians and get on the list. I know that when I called MY doctor to get on the list they told me that they hadn't heard there was a shortage but they would call me as soon as it comes in. I wish my children's ped would consider giving it to me, that would make life a lot easier! I did hear on the news a few weeks ago that due to the anticipated shortage they were considering giving half the normal vaccine dose in order to spread it out to more people. There feeling was that half was probably enough anyway. I hope they know what they are doing!! Anyway, I just thought I would give you all a heads up as we all get ready to enter that most dreaded time of year - flu season!!
